Finished Book One!!
May. 13th, 2004 07:29 pmI finally finished Book One of the Wheel of Time!!! Bwahahahahahaha!! I feel so accomplished. ^^ *pause* But now I want to get my hands on the second one. I can't go to the bookstore until Saturday the latest. >_< I don't know if I can wait that long!
*bounces* So much to say, so much to say... But I don't want to spoil anyone who's actually reading the WoT series. However, Usa-oneechan is the only one I know who's reading the books so far (duh, she introduced me to the series). So, if you read my LJ and the WoT series, speak up! Just so I know...
And... replying to Oneechan's comment on my last post about possible actors/actresses for the Wheel of Time.
First of all, the cheering up thing... If you read my last post before about me "freaking out"... Well, I got the rejection e-mail. The Internship Program is only for college students. Exactly what I was afraid of. I couldn't even open up the e-mail at school. >_< I had my friends read it because I couldn't. I knew though. I just knew. *sighs* I need to find an internship soon or I'm dead. Seriously.
However, major kudos to Sue,
siu, and
andyandnaterock, and their tries at cheering me up by commenting. *hugs!* You guys are the best! Even though I didn't get it, thanks for the kind words of encouragement. It really means a lot to me.
Anyway - *smiles* - back to happier things! Like WoT! I know Rand, Mat, Perrin, and Egwene (+ Elayne and Gawyn) are supposed to be in their mid-teens, but I'm not sure where. 15? 16? 18? I don't know too many teen actors who I feel would do a good job. That's why I kind of went for the Young Hollywood actors that are in their twenties. ^^;;
Rand al'Thor - Honestly, I chose Chad Michael Murray because he's my favorite young male actor today. He's a great actor, especially at the brooding, so he's close to perfect. =0P If only he was a little younger...
Nynaeve al'Meara - Amy Acker! I think she would be around the right age to play Nynaeve, right? ^^;; Anyways, she has that calm, serene look about her. However, I know she can play the annoyed attitude quickly. Lol. Amy Acker can seriously act to any degree. She's outdone herself on AtS, and she should be a breakout star. Besides, she looks cute with a braid! ^_~
Egwene al'Vere/Perrin Aybara - I seriously couldn't choose for these two! It's so hard! I think I might have to do more pondering before I come up with an answer. ^^
Matrim Cauthon - Joshua Jackson is absolutely fantastic at playing the mischief maker. He would fit into Mat's shoes perfectly if it weren't for the age thing. ^_~
Elayne - Again, because Sarah Michelle Gellar has the talent and the looks to play the beautiful princess. ^_~ Alas, there's the age thing again. *pouts* Oh well, I can dream, can't I? (Seriously though, SMG does have the talent. She's amazing.)
Gawyn - Ryan Phillippe just popped out at me! He does seem perfect for it. While going over actors in my head, I remembered the movie Cruel Intentions. (Coincidentally, SMG and RP play step-siblings. ^^) Ryan would totally nail the royalty part, and let's face it, he has that gorgeous face.
Lan - I had a hard time picking someone for Lan. I mean, who could live up to it? Then I thought Hercules, which turned me to Kevin Sorbo. It just clicked. I know what you mean though by only ever seeing Kevin as Hercules. ^^ But he has the muscles, lord knows he has the action experience...
Elyas Machera - Again, another difficult choice. After much thought, I chose Alexis Denisof. He seems to be the right age, and on AtS, Alexis had to play with Wesley's dark side for more than a season. When I say dark side, I mean dark. I know that Elyas isn't that dark, but through Wesley, Alexis has shown his capacity to be mysterious, returning more to the primal side of humanity. I can totally see him running with the wolves. ^_~
Thom Merrilin - Okay, I know, weird choice. I was thinking about the ages thing, and who would make a good Thom? Now I'm doubting my choice with Sean Connery. What do you think about the guy who plays Gandalf? I can't remember his name, but he seems a more likely choice. ^^
Min - The first thought that came to mind was which actress had great cropped hair? Rachael Leigh Cook didn't come to me at first, but when she did, she seemed like a great choice. I can totally see her being mysterious about what she sees concerning Rand and the others. ^^
Moiraine - Okay, I should probably change this choice too. It's just I can see Lucy Lawless playing the character that holds the power. *shrugs* She's also very beautiful.
Here's some of my alternate choices:
Rand - Jeremy Sumpter, Daniel Radcliffe
Mat - Tom Felton, Jeremy Sumpter
Min - Eliza Dushku
Moiraine - Alyson Hannigan, Holly Marie Combs
Even though Rupert Grint has red hair, I can't see him playing the lead. He would be more of a Mat to me if anything. OMG! If I go with the younger teen actors, what about Emma Watson as Egwene? I'm seeing it right now. LOL. ^^
Wow, that was fun. However, now I'm off to study for my History test. *winces* Wish me luck.
*hugs* Daisuki, oneechan.
