HIKARU!!! ♥ C61 Spoilers!

krysyuyI just bought the latest LaLa Issue - June 2008.
OH. MY. GOD.
Let's cut to the chase: at the end of the chapter, Hikaru CONFESSES!!
He confesses and he asks Haruhi to go out with him! *o* Holy crap!!
(Note: We don't get Haruhi's reaction to it yet. Will this confession go the way of Kaoru's? We'll find outnext in two issues!! Just noticed that in the back of LaLa, it says the next Ouran chapter will be a special about Tamaki and his pet Antoinette - the first time they meet!)
I think this is really awesome because even though I'm a TamaHaru shipper, there has always been a place in my heart for HikaHaru. HikaHaru actually really caught my attention first in volume one, not TamaHaru.
This is a great chapter for Hikaru fans, methinks. I know a lot of people were mad at Hikaru for telling Tamaki not to go on the trip, saying he was selfish, which it was in a way, but it's understandable. Hikaru, though he's decided to grow up, the change isn't going to happen overnight. It takes one step at a time. And Hikaru took some more steps this chapter.
I only skimmed through the chapter (as I was too excited that I had to get to the end XD;; *is bricked* XP), but the gist of it, from my understanding, is that Hikaru agonizes over Tamaki. He thinks about what Tamaki's done for him and Kaoru, and what he (Hikaru) should do about his feelings for Haruhi, etc.
In the end, though he recognizes Tamaki's feelings and obliviousness, Hikaru also realizes he has to be true to his feelings as well. If it's Haruhi, he doesn't want to give up.
Hikaru says he likes her, and Haruhi's all, 'thanks'. XD (She doesn't get it at first.) Then Hikaru's all like, "Is that the truth? Or not?" Pause, pause. "I love you. Will you go out with me?"
Here's the actual dialogue:
Hikaru: ハルヒ？
Haruhi: んー？
Hikaru: 僕ハルヒのこと好き。
Haruhi: あーそりゃどうもーー (She's distracted, finding the class representative's cell phone - I won't get into it as that's part of the side story going on...)
Hikaru: 本気だよ？本気なんだけど？ (Hikaru's smiling, sure of his decision.) 好きなんだ。僕とつき合ってくれない？
Meanwhile, the end side panel (y'know, usually the funny one that Hatori-sensei puts in for a laugh), Tamaki is heading to the ski resort because he's worried about Hikaru - this ties in to what happens in the chapter.
Hikaru, because of what he heard about Tamaki in the last chapter, is torn between his own feelings and Tamaki's. At the end, he thinks that he wants to save Tamaki (y'know Tamaki's trauma), but he also doesn't want to give up on Haruhi. So he makes his decision, which leads to his confession.
Oh HIKARU!!! *sobs* I'm so proud of you!!!! *glomps*
But what will Haruhi's response be? She's totally gonna be blindsided, that's for sure. Again. XD;; Oh Haruhi.
In other news, the Vampire Knight anime is awesome and everyone should be watching it!! No joke!
God, I love Ouran more and more. ♥

Date: 2008-04-24 02:07 am (UTC)Gaah, I will get so mad if Haruhi says yes. It would be extremely out of character, IMO, and she knows she loves Tamaki now so...I think HikaHaruhi is one of the least pairings I like...Haruhi doesn't like a lot of Hikaru's attitudes. :S
Waaah, thanks for the spoiler, btw, and I reaaally hope TamaHaru happens in the manga.

He wants to help Tamaki but I don't see how he could help him acting like that...

the confession at the end was an 'oh-my-god' moment *o*
